Maja Malou Lyse (born in Aarhus in 1993) is a Danish performance artist and blogger. While leaving the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and part of her graduation project Antibodies can be seen on the cover of May's Eurowoman. It's the self-port trait, the rise and fall of sex, body positivism and the pursuit of liberation.She was a students at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen until the summer of 2022. In 2021, she held a solo exhibition at the Art Museum Brandts under the title Revenge Body. In 2019, she also made the DR2 program Sex with Maja where she put a speculum in herself and showed us her inner pussy. She also posed naked for photographer Petra Klesit daily for several years. Maja Malou Lyse is a multidisciplinary artist known for her bold, provocative, and socially engaged work that explores themes of sexuality, gender and digital identity. A central focus of Lyse’s work is the relationship between the body and technology, particularly in the context of the digital age. Maja Malou Lyse (b. 1993, Denmark) graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2022. She has had solo exhibitions at Overgaden (Copenhagen) and Brandts Kunst Museum (Odense), and participated in group shows at the National Gallery of Denmark (Copenhagen), the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Copenhagen Contemporary (Copenhagen), Blueproject Foundation (Barcelona), Moderna Museet (Stockholm), ARoS (Aarhus), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (Copenhagen), and Museum of Contemporary Art (Roskilde) among others. From 2018-2019, Lyse had a tv show “Sex med Maja” (Sex med Maja) on DR—the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. In 2024 she featured on the DR podcast, “Genstart”, to speak about her critically acclaimed solo show at Overgaden.
