Shani grew up performing her own skits and shows for people on her street in the small town of Burlington, KY, featuring singing, silly voices, and gymnastics galore. As she got older, Shani remained true to music, acting, and dance. She started as a theatre major at Northern Kentucky University, however, because music continues to tug at her heart strings to this day, she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and a Dance minor. Post-graduation, Shani packed up her instruments and her Bichon Frise, Dudley, and headed to the Big Island of Hawai'i to embrace her creativity. While there, Shani toured the Big Island performing her own original music under the artist name, Shani Sunshine. It was there that she wrote, self-produced, and self-recorded her debut EP Alive with Aloha (2017). She later released a second EP entitled Light Within Darkness, released in early 2018. Shortly after releasing that album, Shani received a call from Hong Kong Disneyland, with an offer to perform as one of their beloved face characters in a brand new stage show. In May 2018, Shani premiered "Moana: A Homecoming Celebration" in Hong Kong Disneyland for the first time in any Disney park. While enjoying her time abroad, Shani's inspiration never stops, as she self-produced her first full length album, Road to Radiance (2019). She held an album release party on beautiful Lantau Island in Hong Kong, where Hong Kong Disneyland is located. After over 250 shows, Shani returned to the US to continue on her artistic journey. She welcomes the opportunity to perform both on stage and on screen.
