Marina Occhiena (born on March 19, 1950 in Genoa, Liguria, Italy) is an Italian singer and actress, known for Abbronzatissimi 2 - Un anno dopo (1993), Die Drehscheibe (1964) and L'isola dei famosi (2003). She is married to G.Giordano. They have one child. In 1967, Occhiena became part of the Ricchi e Poveri group, a quartet composed together with Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Angela Brambati, with whom she managed to make herself known to the general public. Together with them, she will perform several successful songs, especially at the beginning of her career, treading the Ariston stage several times on the occasion of the Sanremo Festival. The debut with the group actually takes place at Cantagiro 1968, with The Last Love. Two years later, the four are in fact for the first time in Sanremo, where they will come second for two years in a row, in the same 1970 and in 1971, respectively with the songs La prima cosa bella and Che Sara (the latter represents the most great success of the group as a quartet). In 1981 Marina (who, in the meantime, had also contributed to the group as an author, as well as an adapter of foreign language texts - in 1979, the song Mama, composed by Occhiena, together with Angelo Sotgiu and Franco, was the theme song of the TV program "Jet Quiz"), on the eve of his performance with the group in Sanremo, decides, after 15 years, to abandon the formation of the Rich and the Poor. It will return there only in 2020, on the occasion of the 70th Sanremo Festival.
