Paige Starling Sorvillois an American therapeutic movement practitioner in the Bay Area and a dancer, artist, choreographer and improviser. Entitled: Bestiarium - it's a performance about the culture of excess and as Paige (artistic director/performer) shared -- the piece is in response/inspired by "...the photographic works of Gregory Crewdson and Jan Saudek; and the installation works of Ann Hamilton and Christian Boltanski." Oh the grunts, groans and some children's sounds coming from toys were fun, but it was the visual, moving images that Paige and Violeta Luna (Mexican actress) created, that were the feast for the audience... The final surprising moment came during the applause. Both actresses/dancers performed the final 1/4 of the piece totally nude. Yet when they stood for their bowing, they did not cover themselves up in any manner. Most performances I see where females are nude - whether at ODC Studio B, YBCA Forum, or the old Garage - at the applause the nude dancers cover their breast with their hands and arms or some cloth they some how grab.
